AIPET uses its local vision system to distinguish its owner from an unknown person. When the screen-privacy response is enabled and an unknown person is detected, AIPET can turn off the display. It is a practical layer for shared rooms, studios, coworking spaces, and home offices.
What happens locally
Camera frames are analyzed on your Mac for presence and face recognition. AIPET does not need to upload the camera feed to a cloud AI service to make this decision.

Clear limits matter
AIPET adds a responsive privacy layer; it does not replace macOS security, a locked session, careful data handling, or physical awareness. Purchase, activation, downloads, and updates use online services, while the recognition and AI core are designed to run locally.
